LITURGICAL MINISTRIES
MINISTERS OF HOSPITALITY
Ministers of Hospitality, or Ushers, have a special role to play whenever God's people assemble for Liturgy.
Ushers minister to the congregation through various acts of hospitality.

Many hands make light work, and we need a few more hands...especially at the 4:00 pm, 8:00 am and 10:00 am weekend Masses.
Please prayerfully consider giving of your time!
We welcome teens and adults as well as confirmation candidates to work in our ministry.
To find out how you can serve as a Minister of Hospitality, call the Parish Office (335-2385) or talk to any usher after any Mass.

As people enter the church, they are welcomed to the celebration that is about to take place. Almost without trying, Ministers of Hospitality can put others at ease and convey countless good wishes with a simple smile or "hello." In fact, an open door and a warm smile help set the tone for the Eucharistic Celebration. |
An Usher’s Prayer
Lord, You make all kinds of people. In Your love, You gather them all into Your Church. As You gather Your people this day, help me to serve them in a Christ-like manner, even as Your Son served those who gathered about Him. Make me prayerful and patient, helpful and understanding, and may I radiate the joy that faith brings as I serve their needs. Give me Your strength to support my fellow ministers. May all who assemble to celebrate our common faith in the risen Savior be glad of heart for being here and for having encountered Your Son in one another, in Your servant-priest, at the tables of the Word and Sacrament, and through the Ministry of Hospitality. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen. |
In addition to greeting parishioners and visitors, Ministers of Hospitality perform other various duties and responsibilities as well.
Collections: There are normally two collections at each weekend Mass. All ushers help with collections. Each usher is responsible for his or her collection. Distribution of Bulletins: All ushers will distribute bulletins at the conclusion of Mass. Source of Information: Many people volunteer to serve in a variety of positions at Mass, but Ministers of Hospitality are usually the ones interacting the most with the public. Parishioners, visitors, and members of the public will ask you questions. For this reason, it is important to know what other activities are scheduled on the day you usher. Read the bulletin, including the calendar page. If someone asks about Lost & Found or something else, refer him or her to the Head Usher. More details are provided at training. Jesus said,
